Description:
Lithospermum is a genus of plants belonging to the family Boraginaceae. Herbs or small shrubs, they are widely distributed except in Australasia. Species are known generally as gromwells or stoneseeds.
Calyx deeply 5-shared: corolla white, yellow or blue-violet colored, funnel-shaped, with short integument or velvety folds around the opening of the tube. Walnuts are oval or almost triple; smooth or wrinkle. The flowers have short stems, spiral raceme with leaf surrounded.
