Genus Vicia L.

Genus 457 (35). Tare - VICIA L¹

. L., Sp. PL ed. 1 (1753) 734; Gen. PL ed. 5 (1754) 327

Fam:   Leguminose Juss. (Fabaceae)
Genus:  Vicia L.
English Name: Vetches

Description:

Perennial and annual herbaceous plants remontant, creeping, ascending or erect, usually branched stems, bare or hairy, spineless, in cross-section round or prismatic to polygonal. Leaves pinnate, usually double pinnate, on top with tendril or small awn, rarely imparipinnate - on top of a piece. Sheets (1) 2 - 10 (16 - 22) couples, entire or serrated to finely serrated. Stipule grassy, whole or shares, entire or serrated durable. Blossoms numerous, in racemose inflorescences, few in bundles or single, in bosoms of leaves the length of the stem. Calyx tubular or bell-like, correct or bilabial 5 shares; teeth shorter, equal to or longer than the tube. Corolla tinted varied, incorrectly, five leaf. Stamens 9 + 1, fused; anthers identical. Ovary goal or fiber; the bar naked, hairy round or bottom; stigma Mining stigma, drained. Long beans, rhombic, lancet or cylindrical in cross-section elliptical or almost round, with (1) 2 (-10) seeds or fibrous, goal, goal or fibrous, splits up. Seed lenticular to spherical, smooth or finely warty, grainy, without appendage, funikulus in elongated scar. Pollinated by insects, mainly cross-pollinated; plants breed by seed, rarely with shoots from the rhizome. Species of the genus usually form vast panmiktni populations and evolution is determined by genes, mutations and chromosomal rearrangements; the smaller the role of polyploidy.

¹ The table allows the determining of the species using semen samples. For this purpose they are  necessary measurements and observations of 10 - 20 ripe seeds as the sizes and colors are variable within certain limits. Of especially importance is the determination of the  between the length of the scar and a tour of the seed.
