Description:

Annual plants. Stems single or multiple, 10.0 - 60.0 cm tall, straight or ascending at its base with four edges, branched or unbranched, close winged naked. Stipule 2.0 - 15.0 mm long and 0.2 - 2.0 mm wide, equal to the petiole, rarely slightly longer or shorter, linear or lance styliform linear, glabrous, 4 - 5 times shorter than the sheets and a narrow stem or equal to it. Leaf axis with half shorter than the sheets, branched tendril. Slips a couple (2.5) 3.5 - 9 0 (12.0) mm long and (0.5) 1.0 - 3.0 (4.0) mm wide, linear lanceolate with parallel streaks, naked, 10 - 14 times longer than narrowly winged petiole. Inflorescence handles coupled to the top, shorter than inflorescence sheet, in articulation without small awn, short bristly fiber. Bracts 5 - 6 times shorter than the blossom handles, entire, tunicates. Blossom handles shorter than the calyx, naked. Single blossoms, from 10.0 - 11.0 (15.0) mm long. Calyx 2 - 3 times shorter than corolla, with five thick parallel, streaks not reaching the top of the lance teeth; stripped naked; equal to tube of the calyx or only longer and almost equal. Corolla orange-red. Flag (6.0) 7.0 - 8.0 (9.0) mm long and 6.0 - 7.0 mm wide, ovoid back at the base, of obscure nail tip, slightly concave or rounded. Wings 2.0 - 3.0 mm wide, equal in length to the flag, leaf blade extended elliptical at the base with 2/3 shorter curved claw. Keel 3.0 - 4.0 mm wide, equal in length to the flag, on top blunt, at the base suddenly narrowed to claw, 2 times shorter than the triangular elliptical, bent at an obtuse angle leaf blade. Beans elliptical, 1.5 - 3.0 cm long and 7.0 - 11.0 mm wide, pale brown, covered with a fine network of veins, naked, to the edges always finely scattered fibrous glandular. Seeds 2 - 3, spherical, finely textured, brown; scar 1/10 - 1/11 of the circumference of the seed, flat, elliptical.


Flowering Time: Blooms: IV - VI, fruitful: V- VII.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Grow in crops and dry grassy places in the plains, foothills and low mountain  belt. Black Sea Coast (Bourgas) Fore (Staro Selo village, Vratsa), Sofia district (Kostinbrod) Znepolski area (Dragoman) Struma Valley (Kyustendil), Eastern Rhodopes (Momchilgrad), Thracian Lowland (Harmanli, Stara Zagora), 800 m altitude. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.

Distribution: Southern Europe (including East Crimea), Mediterranean, Caucasus, Southwest Asia (Asia Minor).
