Description:

Perennial plant. Rhizome thin cylindrical, horizontal, branched, with single to numerous flowering stems. Stems erect or ascending, 15 - 35 (50) cm high, branched only at the top, round, greenish to yellowish, finely longitudinally ribbed, more or less fibrous to woolly. Leaves densely lying down fibrous to woolly, double to triple feathery, leaf shares in several planes, in cross section the leaves are semi-cylindrical; basal on petioles 10 - 20 mm long, lance, 30 - 60 mm long, 4 - 12 mm wide; leaf axis 0.4 - 0.5 (0.8) mm wide; peripheral small shares linearly lance, 0.1 - 0.4 mm wide, lightly pointed; upper leaves reaching almost to the inflorescence, usually entire to double-pinnate, crushing. Baskets back ovate-conical, 40 - 100 at the tips of the branches and stem, 4 - 5 mm in diameter, 1 - 4 mm long fibrous peioles, forming a superior thyroid complex inflorescence. The shell is 1.5 - 2.5 (3) mm wide, conically narrowed at the base; enveloping leaves yellowish or greenish, slightly keeled, with a clearly convex midrib, more or less evenly shortly fibrous; outer narrowly elliptical, pointed, clearly narrower and shorter than middle and inner; the latter oblong-elliptical, blunt, with a narrow light transparent rarely on top brownish membranous edge; middle veins (1.3) 2.1 - 2.4 (3) mm long and (0.5) 0.7 - 0.8 (1) mm wide. The outer 4 - 6 flowers are tongue-like; tongues white, rarely pink, (0.9) 1 - 1.3 (1.9) mm long; inner tubular, few, yellow, corolla glandular of separated spots. Fruits oblong-elliptic, brown, 1.4 (1.6 - 1.7) mm long, narrowly white winged at the edge.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Growing in grassy and stony places, from pastures, along forests and bushes, usually in open habitats, in the plains and foothills, more often in Eastern, Northeastern and Southern Bulgaria. It occurs from sea level to about 1200 (1600) m above sea level. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.
