Description:
Perennials. Roots tuber=shaped thickened. Stems erect, 100 - 150 centimeters tall, straight or wavy curved, unbranched or slightly branched towards the top, naked or in the field along the axis of the inflorescence and pedicels with short curved hairs. Leaves consecutive, with stems, or the upper seated, palmate deep cut, units 3 - 7, a lozenge , a peripheral cut, the tip tapered small shares. Inflorescences top, complex, racemose. Blossoms 20 - 32 mm high and 10 - 20 mm in clear width, up 10 - 30 mm long stems at the base of the bracts. Perianth blue. Helmet from 1.5 to 3 cm tall, conical or cylindrical, straight or slightly tilted forward, higher than wide, broad or narrow vaulted arched, sloping forward or standing more or less curved to the right forehead above the beak in base more or less narrow wedge. The main line of the helmet more or less obliquely arched or curved and drained or suddenly narrowed into a longer or shorter nail. Stamens with anthers oval located on long stems. The bubbles 3, to basically free. Seeds tetrahedral edge wingless, heavily wrinkled.

subsp. variegatum. Stem unbranched or branched at the top. Palmate leaves deeply cut into 5 - 7 partitions, partition deep cut. Blossoms large, helmet high vaulted narrow, more or less inclined forward, the tip broadly rounded, at the base long and very narrow wedge in the front end neb-like sharp, clear forehead above the beak curved, the baseline broadly curved, drained a long fingernail.
var. variegatum. Stem right. Blossoms large. The helmet vaulted, tall, strong forward-inclined, conical; forehead above the beak strongly curved.

Stem highly branched in the inflorescence, naked or covered with inflorescence with numerous curly hairs. Palmate leaves deeply cut into 3 - 5 devided shares. The blossoms blue, helmet high, vaulted wide, straight undisposed forward tip broadly rounded, at the base short wedge east. Forehead above the beak very slightly curved or straight. Base line slightly curved and suddenly narrowed and cut in the form of a short nail.
var. judenbergense. Blossoms 20 - 22 mm high and 12 - 15 mm in clear width. Bare stem. In Bulgaria not found .
var. balcanicum (Vel.). Hayek, 1. c.; A. balcanicum Vel., Fl. Bulg. Suppl. I ( 1898 ) 9; A. cammarum var. balcanicum (Vel.) Stoj. et Stef., 1. c. 444. Blossoms 22 - 32 mm high and 24 - 26 mm in clear width. Bare stem. Stara Planina, Vitosha region (Vitosha), Pirin, Rila and Western Rhodopes.
var. vitosanum (Gay.) Hayek, 1. c.; A. vitosanum Gay., Mag. Bot. Lap. VII (1909) 203; A. cammarum var. vitosanum (Gay.) Stoj. et Stef., 1. c. 444. Blossomss 15 - 20 mm high and 10 - 12 mm in clear width. Stem in the inflorescence densely covered with curly hairs. Vitosha region (Vitosha), Rila.

Distribution in Bulgaria: In wet grassy places near mountain streams, rocky and stony slopes, in the woods and bushes. Fore, Stara Planina, Vitosha region (Vitosha), Pirin, Rila and Central forest, Western Rhodopes - from 1200 to 2350 m altitude. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.
Distribution: Central, Southern and Eastern Europe.
