Description:

Beschreibung: Pflanze 20 - 60 cm hoch. Stengel kahl, steif. Blatter 2 - 4, am Stengel verteilt, oval bis lanzettlich, 5 - 10 cm lang, zumeist flach ausgebreitet. Blütenstand bis zu 15 cm lang, locker 4 - bis 12 blütig. Blüten aufwarts gerichtet, weiß bis gelblich, ziemlich geschlossen. Sepalen langlich-lanzettlich, 15 – 20 mm lang und 5 - 8 mm breit, stumpf. Petalen kürzer, 12 - 17 mm lang. Lippe kürzer als die Perigonblätter, 12 mm lang. Hinterlippe mit abgerundeten Seitenlappen, die die Säule umhüllen, am Grunde mit einem gelben Flecken. Vorderlippe herzförmig, breiter als lang, mit 3 orangegelben Streifen. Untere Tragblätter in Form und Größe wie die Stengelblätter, obere schmal-lanzettlich, wenig länger als der Fruchtknoten. Sporn fehlt.
Blütezeit: Im Mai und Juni.
Höhenverbreitung: Von der Ebene bis etwa 1700 m.
Standort: In schattigen Laub- und Nadelwäldem und im Gebüsch, selten in offenen Lagen, zumeist auf Kalk.
Bastarde: Mit C. longifolia, kotschyana, rubra und E. atrorubens.
Bildnachweis: 10.6.1981, Stammheim (Baden-Württemberg), H. Baumann. Das Bild zeigt eine prächtig entwickelte Gruppe auf unterem Muschelkalk. Charakteristisch sind die breiten ovalen Stengelblätter, die langsam in die Tragblätter des Blütenstandes übergehen. Die Blüten sind gelblichweiB und kaum geöffnet.

Description: Plant 20 - 60 cm high. Stem bald, indurate. Leaves 2 - 4, distributed on the stem, ovate to lanceolate, 5 - 10 cm long, mostly flat spread. Inflorescence up to 15 cm long, loose 4 - to 12 blossoms. Blossoms aufwarts directed, white to yellowish, substantially closed. Sepals oblong-lanceolate, 15 - 20 mm long and 5 - 8 mm wide, without peak. Petals shorter, 12 - 17 mm long. Oral shorter than the perianth, 12 mm long. Rear lip with rounded lateral lobes that wrap the column, at the bottom with a yellow stain. Front lip heart-shaped, wider than long, with 3 orange yellow stripes. Lower bracts in shape and size as the stem leaves, upper narrow-lanceolate, slightly longer than the ovary. Spur missing.
Flowering time: May and June.
Height Spread: From sea level to about 1700 m.
Habitat: In shady coniferous and deciduous forests and in the bushes, rarely found places, mostly on limestone.
Bastards: With C. longifolia, kotschyana, rubra and E. atrorubens.
Origin pictures: 06/10/1981, Stammheim (Baden-Württemberg), H. Baumann. The picture shows a magnificently developed group on lower Muschelkalk. It is characterized by broad oval stem leaves that slowly merge into the bracts of the inflorescence. The blossoms are yellowish-white and only opened.
