Description: h. Subshrubs, 10.0 - 20.0 cm tall. Widespread stem, with numerous simple or branched, green, almost naked, absently fibrous or at the top to densely fibrous, erect or recumbent, branches with two listed on flat, wide to 2.0 (3.0 - 5.0) mm, indented wings in knots. Leaves 8.0 - 12.0 (15.0) mm long and 2.0 - 3.0 (10.0) mm wide, simple, few, single, in the nodes of the stem, lanceolate, tip pointed, sessile, entire young more or less fibrous, then usually almost naked bare, rarely spread long fiber. Stipule missing. Clusters 3.0 - 5.0 cm long, with 3 - 10 (15) flowers cluster, more or less compact, racemose, on the tips of the branches. Flower stems up to 2.0 mm long, outstretched fiber. Calyx 6,0 - 7,0 mm long and 3.0 - 4.0 mm wide, bell-shaped cylindrical, densely spread fiber, 2/3 bilabial, upper lip deeper than the base two-pronged; teeth broadly triangular, lower triangular close to styliform, 1/3 of the length of the lip. Corolla 10.0 - 12.0 mm long, yellow to golden yellow. Flag 8.0 - 10.0 mm wide, broadly ovate elliptical back, on top incised, at the base gradually drained into short wide nail, longer than the wings and keel, yellow, naked. Incorrectly elliptical wings, at the base with elliptical appendage, narrowed in thin long nails, yellow, naked. Keel extended elliptical, slightly crescent, basically thin long nails, yellow, nude edge short cilia. Beans 1.5 - 2.5 cm long and 4.0 - 5.0 mm wide, elongated Lancet, the top short-pointed, spread fibrous, 2 - 6-seed, splits after ripening. The seeds to 2.5 mm long and 2.0 mm wide, lenticular, brown, smooth.
Volatility
var. sagittate. Stem branches erect, absently fiber to almost naked. Widespread.
var. villosa Kuzm., in Addenda; Genista delphinensis auct. Ganch. Izvestia. Bot. Inst. BAS, VI (1958) 386, non Verlot. Stem branches recumbent or low, especially at the top, more or less densely spread long fiber. West Frontier mountains. (Ograjzden Mountain – Nikudin village, Sandanski region).Economic importance. Shepherd of the sheep, used for painting in yellow, can be used as an ornamental. Note. The main differences between var. villosa and G. delphinensis are as follows: var. villosa - with long thick hairs spread and bare flag, G. delphinensis - with short bristly lies close to sparse, mainly midrib, cloth flag fiber.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Grows in the grassy areas and scrubs, in diluted places in the woods, most often in communities of Pinus sylvestris, Picea abies, Abies alba in the plains and mountains. Spread from sea level up to about 2000 m altitude (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.
Distribution: Central and Southern Europe.
