Description:Perennial plants with significant woody root, with -one or more upright tetrahedral usually 30 - 60 cm tall, unbranched stems, light green, naked. The sheaths of leaves 5 - 9 times longer than the stem diameter. Leaf lamina linear styliform at the base, 1.5 - 3 mm wide, narrowed to the top in the end almost smooth, light green, with about 7 veins. The inflorescence almost globular, usually with 2 - 7 blossoms. Wrapping flakes of the inflorescence linear lanceolate, gradually narrowed and pointed, long approximately as calyxes, green or purple in the upper part, seldom entirely purple. The flakes of the calyx lanceolate or linear lanceolate, widest at its base, and to the top gradually narrow and pointed, usually reaching the base of the teeths of the calyx or a little longer, close to the calyx, green or purple lines. Calyx closely cylindrical, 16 - 20 mm in length and 3 - 3.5 mm wide, tapering toward the tip, at the lower part green, and the upper with purple lines, covered with rare small sessile glands; teeth purple, with a thin membranous edge. Lamina of petals back wedge, sharp, intense red and inside at the base with yellow spot, 5 - 7 mm long, on the surface with separate small glands.
