An annual plant. A plant with an unpleasant odor. Stems single, rarely many, 15 - 80 (-110) cm high, hollow, ascending at the base, up to 5 mm in diameter, erect, green, glabrous or at the top scattered fibrous, not branched or sometimes at the base with 2 opposite not fruitful branches, at the top with numerous (1 - 15) lateral, at the top three-part flowering branches. Stem leaves sat down or on short (up to 1 mm long) petioles, with drawn sharply or cut to a slightly heart-shaped base; lower leaves elongated back ovate, obtuse; upper leaves oblong-lance, pointed; all finely toothed, glabrous or fibrous, thin, yellow-green to blue-green, 20 - 60 mm long and 5 - 20 mm wide. The upper flowering branches (3) 5, 2 - 11 cm long, 3 - 5-lobed at the top, each branch 1 - 2 or more times in two parts, in the nodes of the dichases with one fruiting cyatium. Bracts (3-) 5, elongated lance, lance to ovate, pointed, glabrous or fibrous, toothed, 10 - 40 mm long and 5 - 15 mm wide Bracts with broadly truncated or slightly heart-shaped base, broadly triangular to rhombic, pointed , serrated, glabrous or fibrous, light green, 6 - 20 mm long and 8 - 15 mm wide, two each. Perianth conical, on a petiole up to 1 mm, diffusely long fibrous, 1.5 - 2.0 mm long and wide, the shares triangular, sharp, long ciliate inside; glands 4, transversely broadly elliptic to elliptical, yellow or yellow-green, 0.8 mm long and 0.6 mm wide, entire. The box on a petiole up to 1 mm long, spherical, 2.5 - 3.0 mm long and 3.0 - 3.5 mm wide, perfectly slightly three-part, the sections separated by a shallow, narrow groove, covered with short warts growths, glabrous or diffusely fibrous; the styles 1.5 - 2.0 mm long, fused at the base, entire at the top, thickened. Seeds lenticular, strongly dorsally-abdominally flattened, (1,8) 2,0 - 2,2 mm long, 1,6 - 1,8 mm wide and 1,1 - 1,2 mm thick, dorsal and abdominal seminal edge unexpressed; lateral seed edges clear, keeled; the cross-section is elliptical: the chalazis is small, round, with a short navel; the hilus zone in the form of a shallow apex, obscure; seam indistinct, filamentous; dark brown to brownish black; the surface is smooth, shiny; fine mesh structure; appendage white, transversely elliptical, slightly concave at the front, barely exceeding the seed.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Growing in the forests and pastures, ruderally near the settlements and roads, weeds in the cultivated areas, in the plains and the lower mountain belt. Widespread, from sea level to 1000 m above sea level.
