Description:

Kite consisting of beams of equal length. Fruit 1.5 - 2.5 mm long; ribs on its upper end with teeth. Plants often shoots. Stem unbranched, leafless or rarely in its upper part with 1 - 2 squamas, with one basket. Ground leaves form a dense rosette. End tenon-shaped blossoms outside with red lines. Baskets without silk-like cloth. Involucral leaflets 1.5 - 4.0 mm wide, all or only external blunt. Shoots stubby, usually with rosette leaves.

H. hoppeanum Schult (perennial plant) - spread throughout Bulgaria, from the plains to alpine (1-3). V-VII. Fig. 1529,
var. hoppeanum - leaves on top are not white and furry without like stars cloth. Involucral leaflets 2 - 4 mm wide, dark, with a pale edge. Widespread.
var. macranthum (Ten.) (N. m. Ten.) - The leaves above are not without like stars woolly hairs. Wrapping petals 1.5 - 2.5 mm wide, with a broad white edge or goals or goals are gray - white. Widespread.
var. cillcicum (NP) (HH Schult ssp. c. NP) - Leaves white top and furry star-like fibers on top. Wrapping petals 1.3 - 1.5 mm wide, dark. Slavianka, Sliven, Kyustendil.
