Species: Linaria genistifolia (L.) Mill.
English Name: Broomleaf toadflaxDescription:
Perennial plant. The root is spindle-shaped, branched, more or less hardened. Stem 20 - 130 cm high, erect or raised, paniculate branched, rarely unbranched, glabrous, often woody at the base. Leaves almost fleshy, sat down, successive, lance, oblong or ovate-lance to almost ovate, rarely linear, with 1 - 3 (5) veins, more or less densely arranged, overlapping; lower 2 - 4 (6) cm long and 0.1 - 1.5 cm wide, usually with 1 vein, narrowed at the base, gradually pointed towards the top; middle and upper 2 - 6 cm long and (0,1) 1 - 2 cm wide, with 1 - 3 veins, rounded at the base, gradually pointed from the lower third upwards. Inflorescence with more than 10, less often with 3 - 5 (8) flowers, collected in loose, less often in a compact cluster, usually extending after flowering. Bracts ovate, ovate-lance or lance, 5 - 10 mm long and about 1.5 mm wide, longer than the flower petioles and sometimes reaching the tip of the calyx; the lower ones often curved backwards; petioles of lower flowers 2 - 4 (6) mm long. Calyx lance-ovate to narrowly linear-lance, ovate-lance to broadly ovate, rounded at the base, pointed at the apex, completely herbaceous, without cartilaginous edge, 2.5 - 6 mm long and 1 - 1.4 mm wide , equal to or slightly shorter than the tube of the wreath, glabrous. Corolla bright or pale yellow, with or without reddish veins, without spur (5) 8 - 14 mm long; the shares of the upper lip pointed or concave, 1.5 - 2 mm wide, and the lower rounded, 3 - 4 mm wide; spur conical, usually straight, pointed, (3) 5 - 9 (10) mm long. The ovary is ovate-conical, 3 - 4 times shorter than the style. The box is bare, spherical, 3 - 6 mm in diameter, usually flat, rarely a little longer to a little shorter than the calyx. Seeds 1 - 1.2 mm long, warty, narrowly membranous winged at the edges, black, flattened three-walled.
