Description:

Annual plant. Stem up to 50 cm high, usually not branched, naked or rugged. Stem leaves up to 40 mm long and 2 mm wide, linearly oblong, with 3 veins. Leaf vagina usually as long, so wide. Flowers located in the heads. The bracts are brown tiny, the largest 6 - 12 (13) mm long, 3 - 8 mm wide, blunt, the outermost tapered. The calyx trumpet or bulging trumpet, 10 - 13 mm long, with 5 longitudinal veins, with elongated blunt teeth on the tip. The petals are backward heartbeat, rounded, pink, purple or white. The seed is 1,3 – 1,9 mm long, 0,8 – 1,2 mm wide with mesh surface.

This name is the accepted name of a species in the genus Petrorhagia (family Caryophyllaceae).
The record derives from WCSP (in review) (data supplied on 2012-03-23) which reports it as an accepted name with original publication details: Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.) Bot. 3: 161 1964.
