Description:

h - ħ. Rhizome large woody. Blossom  stems 20 -150 cm toll, erect, or sometimes lying more or less branched, reddish - brown or gray, young loose fibrous in aging denuding. Leaves footed cirrus, rarely triple, with 5 - 7 petals, with long stems, partly fallen; stems with outstretched long hairs; leaves 10 - 25 mm long and 2 - 7 mm wide, oblong, rarely ovate oblong and narrowly lance, narrow wedge at the base, tapered tip, entire, the edge slightly curved upward, above dark green, bottom silky fibrous, bellow pale green, especially veins and tight end silky fibrous; stipules ovate, ovate lance or oblong-lance, partly fused with the stems of the leaves, membranous. Blossoms 30 mm in diameter, single, rarely inflorescence with fewer  b lossons, or almost umbel-shaped on top inflorescences,  unisexual or hermaphrodite, blossom stems long, with outspread and off-standing long hairs. Sepals off-standing fibrous, outer - oblong lance, sharp, narrow and almost equally long with internal. Last triangular lance, pointed, often very little unevenly cut in two. Petals 8 - 12 mm long, longer than sepals, rounded at the base, narrowed into a short broad claw, yellow. Staminal ring thickened, fibrous absently fibrous. Stamens 25, with bare stems and oblong, flat, whole anthers. Blossom bed almost spherical, close silky fiber. Ovaries numerous, fully dense fibrous. Ledges clubbed, short, thick, almost basal, with very wide, funnel-shaped, concave in the middle of stigma. Nuts tight fibrous, brownish-yellow.

Distribution in Bulgaria: In open areas in coniferous forests in the mountain zone. Western Rhodopes {"Раково дере", "Мандрата" and southeast of Mount Ayatak) from 1400 to 1600 m altitude. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.


Distribution: England, Ireland, the Baltic region, the Pyrenees, Alpes, Asia and North America. Widely cultivated and naturalized in many parts of the plant.
