Description:

Perennial plant. The roots are large, cylindrical conical, usually horizontally or inclined, at the upper part of them suddenly expanded, with several terse leaves, often in the upper half more or less branched. Stem 15 - 45 cm high, more or less upright, silky fibrous. The basal leaves dries in autumn, on long stems, at the base, more or less extended, (3) four times feathery, with 6 - 9 linear or lance shares, in their overall outline ovoid, silk fibrous. Stem leaves of about 25 linear shares, long silk fibrous; wrapping leaflets with 25 - 33 linear or on top spatula shares. Blossoms 40 - 50 mm in diameter, bell-shaped, bent or erect, dove, blue, blue-violet to dark-purple; Perianth leaflets 2.5 - 3.5 mm long and 7 - 12 mm wide, twice as long as stamens, ovate lancets, broad or narrow ovate or elliptical, outer silk-fiber or naked outside. Nuts 3.5 - 4 mm long, densely silky fibrous, prismatic; the pillar 3 - 3.5 cm long.
