Description:

Annual plant. Stem 10 - 50 (-60) cm high with multiple shortened internodes, simple or in the upper part branched with arched ascending branches, green, often with numerous longitudinal black lines, bare to moderate fiber. Leaves 10 - 35mm long and 2 - 15mm wide, linear, linear-lance to ovate-lance, longer than the internodes, dull-toothed, green, nude, or with rare hairs. Bracts longer than the calyx, naked, narrowly triangular to ovate, jagged; the lower teeth about 5 mm long, to the top decreasing in size, the vertices shorter, broadly triangular. The calyx naked, less often on the edge of the hair. The wreath 16 - 20 mm long, yellow; the tube of the crown 2 - 3 mm wide, more or less curved with a closed mouth; the upper lip with 1.5 - 2.5 mm long, violet teeth, 2 - 3 times longer than broad. The box is 6 - 12 mm long. Seeds 3 - 5 (-6) mm.

Rhinanthus angustifolius or Greater Yellow-rattle is a Lamiales plant species of the genus Rhinanthus. It is an annual wildflower native to temperate grasslands in much of Europe, and north and central Western Asia. The yellow flowers are mostly visited by bumblebees.[1]

Distribution in Bulgaria: Grow in meadows and crops mainly in the mountains. Widespread, from 1,000 to 2500 meters altitude. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.
