Description:

Perennial, naked, 35 - 120 cm tall plant with creeping underground stem. Single stem (rarely more) naked, smooth, upper glandular sticky unbranched. Leaves entire, naked, rarely at the bottom edge with short soft hairs; basal lance back shovel-like to back ovoid shovel-like, tip rounded or short-pointed, Stem 4 - 7 pairs; lower to 20 cm long, 3.5 cm wide, lance Backhoes similar to prolonged shovel similar, short fused at the base, middle and upper smaller, sessile, lanceolate or elliptical, free to the base. Inflorescence is zymosan with strong shortened internodesр forming multiblossom head wrapped in the base of 2 - 4 pairs broadly ovate lanceolate to lanceolate, sometimes on top styliform taper, not closer than 5 mm, tunicates or grassy leaves. Tunicates bracts, longer than the colored handle. Blossoms bisexual, erect, bare up to 3 mm long stems. Cylindrical clubbed calyx, with 10 marbling not anastomosis, often vague streaks, calyx 12 - 14 mm in length, slightly narrowed at the base, the top 5 ovate lanceolate to lanceolate pointed teeth in the fetus, adhering to it in the fetus. Red petals; Nails back Lance, naked, about 8 mm long, rounded at the top; tab back to elongated ovoid, entire, rounded at the top, about 3.5 mm long, 1.5 to 1.6 mm wide at the base of the crown by two small plates. Filament naked. Pistils goal. The bars are three. Fruit box is about 6 mm long, 3.5 mm wide, with 6 splayed teeth, about 2 mm wide opening, in the bottom half with three nests, filed over the calyx with about 2 mm. Seeds reniform, dark purple to black, 0.7 - 0.8 mm long, with warts; warts sharply conical, with very tight black tops.

Distribution in Bulgaria: In mountain wet meadows, bogs and sphagnum bogs. Western Stara Planina (Balkan), Vitosha region (Plana Mountain), The Western border mountains (Osogovska Mountain), Rila. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.


Distribution: Albania, Yugoslavia (Serbia, Macedonia), Greece, Balkan endemic.
