Description:

Biennial to perennial plants, high 20 - 90 сm. The blossomrs yellow. Stems and leaves covered with long soft fibers. The beak of the outermost fruits half longer than the fruit itself. Leaves narrow, slightly dilated at the base, bluish-green. Stems of the inflorescence under the baskets are not thickened.
In Bulgaria var. orientalis (L.) Garcke ( T. o. L., T. rumelicus Vel.) – The husks of the baskets a third shorter than the blossoms; last orange yellow.

Flowering Time: Blooms: VI - VIII. (X).

Distribution in Bulgaria: Grow on dry grassy and stony places. It occurs quite often in all appropriate floristic regions in Bulgaria up to1000 m altitude. (Conspectus of the Bulgarian Vascular Flora) = conspectus&gs_l= Zlc.
